Mr. Toad’s Friday Night Movies is a series that harkens back to the vibrations of Dave Rothstein’s original Music Inn in Lenox, Ma. In that mythical enclave of the 1970s, housed next to the music venue there was a ramshackle homegrown cinema called Toad Hall where experimental and art house films were shown. In the spirit of that space, and with the notion that movies exist in order to gather community together for collective exaltation through light and sound - Race Brook Lodge will host a double feature series in the barn on select Fridays in January, February, and March.

Artistic Programmer, (and filmmaker), Alex Harvey has paired a variety of movies that resonate on certain themes and styles for each Friday night offering. A short discussion of the works will be included in the course of the evening. In the classic format of the double feature, patrons can attend either film, or, ideally, stay for both to get the full impact of the program. Mr Toad’s Friday Night Movies is a series designed for folks who want to engage deeply with film works and the poetic medicine they serve up for the soul. We hope to reveal cinema as a form of shamanic healing.
