BJ Sarkissian is a singer/songwriter from southeastern Pennsylvania who has recently moved to our area. He’s an accomplished 6 and 12-string guitarist in the finger-style traditions of Paul Simon, James Taylor, Steve Goodman and John Prine among others. His songwriting tells stories of childhood summer nights, fireflies, the sound of his mother’s dinner bell calling he and his siblings home at dark. He’s half Armenian and has written songs directly from his father’s notes about his father’s and his grandparents narrow escape from the Turkish/Armenian conflict in the early 20th century. Other topics include loss, addiction, isolation and the discovery of mindfulness through such authors as Thich Nhat Hanh and Pema Chodron. He will be joined by friend and vocalist extraordinaire, Tamara Sheen, for a few songs! Come on out and support local music in the Berkshires!
Doors open at 7pm... music starts around 8pm.
