Iranian-American vocalist, poet, and translator Haleh Liza will be joined
by master percussionists Matt Kilmer and Rich Stein for a performance
featuring poetry by the great mystic Rumi.
Singing and reciting in both English and Persian, Haleh will share his poems
in new translations as well as in the original text so you can hear the stunning
rhythm, rhyme, and word play of the original language. Weaving together poetry, song, and story, Haleh will open another window onto this legendary poet.

Haleh's poems and translations have been published by Columbia University Press Rattapallax Press, and Beyond Borders. As a vocalist, with The Mast and Haale, she and Matt Kilmer have performed at such venues as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Bonnaroo Festival.
