Sasha Dobson’s solo work has been called “raw & compelling".”

My House is The Mountain featuring Sasha Dobson, Jesse Murphy, Gabriel Gordon & Aaron Johnston will perform in the Barnspace at Race Brook Lodge on Thursday March 28th… Local singer-songwriter Simon McTeigue will perform an opening set

My House is The Mountain: Harmony, melody, strumming guitars, bouncing bass and lilting rhythms are as old as the mountains. Although in modern times, capturing that carefree sound without intent takes more than a clever plan. It takes time, age, intuition and a family of friends who have been making music together for most of their professional careers.

After years of playing and touring around the world together in Norah Jones’ band, the two women decided to start another band together. With the addition of Catherine Popper on bass, Puss n Boots just recorded their second album recorded at Wilco’s studio The Loft, engineered by Tom Schick set to be released in 2020. Simon McTeigue

Simon McTeigue

Simon McTeigue always wanted to write songs. It was never about ‪Johnny Cash‬, ‪Bob Dylan‬, John Prine or ‪Joan Baez‬. It was about the girl at school or the sunset on the rolling hills in western Massachusetts. “It wasn't until a few years of studying classical guitar that i asked my teacher what a C chord was, and although i had a small repertoire of classical compositions i will never forget the pure excitement i had shifting my fingers from a C chord to a G. With that my poems became songs.” Simon lives in Sheffield MA where he takes inspiration from living simply, working hard, and the natural world, where he loves to be the most.
