Slow Pony is an accordion-centric intense musical expedition: an ever revolving cast--of one to many-- that performs music from many far (some no-longer-existing) corners of the globe. They feel passionate about studying and playing musics that are at risk of being forgotten, hoping the audience might remember the lost dances.
Whether simple, complex, subdued or feverish, It is their mission to preserve the use of music as a language capable of giving voice to the trials and joys of the human experience.
Marlon Battad is a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter currently living in Providence, RI. As well as playing toms for the What Cheer? Brigade, Marlon writes original music based around piano, guitar, and percussion, coupled with intimate lyrics and occasional melodic accompaniment.
Slow Pony and Marlon Battad will be performing together in the DCSC on Thursday, April 11, 8-10pm (doors open 7pm).
