After a long hiatus, the Down County Social Club (DCSC) returns with a very special guest artist, Belu-Olisa
Belu-Olisa is a multi-disciplinary artist from Brooklyn, NY. Belu had an early training in dance before focusing on music and attending Laguardia High School where she was trained in classical opera for voice. At Brown University they found comfort in improvisation and the creative aspects of play in performance—escaping the technical qualities of her classical training. Currently, their work deals with exploration and spiritualism, confronting the boundaries between the self and its internal and external environment; sound and (its) movement in relation to space and the body; world-making (sonic and story); and pleasure and presence in listening and moving.
