Join us for a very special Dance Lab gathering featuring an ecstatic dance journey with DJ Omar Aena and an introduction to Sufi movement and mysticism with Juliet Rania
We'll start with a guided exploration led by Juliet, flowing into a DJ set with Omar.
This will be a is safe and inclusive space, welcoming people from all walks of life to freely express themselves through movement. No prior dance experience is required, just come as you are!

Artist Bios
Omar Aena is a world-music DJ, community organizer and event producer of Iraqi descent, based in NYC. Omar is the founder of Dance Lab, a Brooklyn-based collective that explores dance as a form of somatic therapy.
As a DJ, Omar mixes together traditional world music with electronic sounds, with a particular focus on songs from his middle-eastern heritage + hip hop from his upbringing in NYC.

Juliet Rania is a speaker, educator, ritualist and spiritual representative of the Nur Ashki Jerrahi Sufi lineage. She teaches Sufi spiritual technologies such as chanting, whirling and frame drumming both privately and in groups. She is a ritual leader in the Italian Shamanic tradition of the Black Virgin and has apprenticed under Alessandra Belloni for over a decade. She is also a vocalist and percussionist in several ensembles including Persian Music Ensemble and American Sufi Project and NY Arabic Orchestra.
