Artist Bios

Galen Passen

Galen Passen is a sitarist, composer, and visual artist based in Brooklyn, NYC. He performs within the realms of Hindustani classical music, experimental composition, contemporary dance, and multi media movement theatre. He has had the privilege of performing at such prestigious venues as SPAC (Saratoga Performing Arts Center), legendary folk venue Caffe Lena, The Center for Remembering and Sharing (CRS), Chhandayan Center for Indian Music, Pioneer Works, and Urban Glass Gallery amongst others. He has worked with The Pittsburgh Opera, Brooklyn Raga Massive, Ollom Art Dance Company, The Silk Road Project’s GMW, and Korean Piri master, Gamin Kang. Passen lived in New Delhi between 2009-17 where he trained under Gopal Krishan Shah. Since 2018 he has continued his studies under the guidance of renowned sitarist, Abhik Mukherjee.

Rob Meyson

Rob Meyson has been playing percussion in a wide variety of musical settings for twenty years. As a student of tabla, Rob finds value in the introspective, emotional landscapes of Indian Classical music. He began lessons with Anand Gadre and went on to study with Devesh Chandra. Rob has had the privilege of sharing the stage with Indian Classical artists such as Steve Gorn, Amit Chakraborty and Deepak Kumar. He has also toured across the country with acts ranging from Ashana to Dirty Paris.


The Stagecoach Tavern at Race Brook Lodge offers a seasonal menu with a focus on local ingredients. The candlelit Tavern boasts hand-hewn beams and wide-plank floors spanning multiple levels. It has been a warm and convivial gathering spot for friends, families, and lovers for over 200 years. Cozy up by our roaring fire in winter months or in the summer relax with a drink under the stars in our courtyard.

Race Brook Lodge is a rustic and unique getaway destination, perfect for weekend getaways, workshops, weddings, hiking, biking and more, in the natural beauty of the southern Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts.
