Down County Jump Music Festival

  • Race Brook Lodge Race Brook Lodge Sheffield United States (map)

With all the pomp and circumstance befitting the grand old age, Race Brook Lodge and Brooklyn’s historic Jalopy Theatre are heartily pleased to pal up again for the second annual Down County Jump Music Festival.

Prepare yourselves, friends and gentlefolk, for two days of jubilant spirit-lifty feet-tappity fun. Coming to full bloom on June 28 and 29 in the Southern Berkshire Hills of Sheffield MA.

Who can forget that grainy, warm, spirited voodoo vibrato that pulsed with soul and sass from the towering Barnspace last autumn at the inaugural Jump Fest. And for you wanderers luckless enough to have missed out on that cornucopia of sound and spirit - you might catch a passing whiff of FOMO here:

This year we’ll whisk the gumbo once again blurring flavors of Gypsy Waltz, Swamp-Pop, Son Jarocho, Olde Time Rags, Hawaiian Hapa Haole, post-war New Orleans R&B - and a special Shape Note Singing performance by the acclaimed “Cold Mountain” soundtrack singer and Cordelia’s Dad frontman, TIM ERIKSEN. This year’s JUMP will offer some of the most danceable shuffles this side of the civil war.

The lineup also includes JACKSON & THE JANKS, PULSO DE BARRO, LES TAIAUTS, JENNY PARROT, SLOWEY & THE BOATS, SAMOA WILSON, THE LUCKY FIVE, PHIL SAYLOR, THE SWEET MAYDOS, THE VICTROLLERS and SHINBONE ALLEY.

Food, swimming, hiking, campfires, jam sessions, kids club and a special interactive Sacred Harp singing will all be a part of the experience this year.

Accommodations are limited! Book your room at Race Brook for the Down County Jump while they last! Rooms can only be reserved with this link or by using the code DOWNCOUNTY (not both).

Friday & Saturday, June 28th & 29th, 2024

Race Brook Lodge is a hidden gem in The Berkshires, at the foot of Mt. Race and a short hike from the Appalachian trail. The yoga & event barn at Race Brook is simultaneously rustic and sublime, steeped in hundreds of years of New England history. The Stagecoach Tavern is unpretentious fine dining, exquisite farm-to-table cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere. Much of the food is sourced from Race Farm, right on the property!
