Join us in the Barn Space on Saturday of Indigenous People's Day Weekend for Threads of Earth, a captivating evening that weaves together diverse dance traditions from across the globe. This vibrant celebration of movement, music, and vernacular culture will feature four traditions:
Bollywood Dance with Arobi – Arobi will dazzle us with a solo Bollywood dance performance, blending energetic and graceful movements to her own recorded music. Prepare to be enchanted by the vibrancy of Indian cinema’s iconic dance style.
Myrto & Sophianna Apergis – Middle Eastern Belly Dance – Myrto will be joined by fellow belly dancer Sophianna Apergis in a mesmerizing performance accompanied by a fusion of recorded music, live drumming, and the Ney. Together, they will bring the rich traditions of Middle Eastern dance to the stage.
Joanne Magdalena – Flamenco Dance – Flamenco dancer Joanne Magdalena will ignite the stage with the passionate and expressive movements of this iconic Spanish art form, embodying the spirit and fire of flamenco.
Grupo De Capoeira Angola Do Acupe – Experience the powerful rhythms and graceful movements of Capoeira Angola, accompanied by live music on berimbaus, drums, and tambourines. This ensemble will close the evening with an immersion that embodies the deep-rooted traditions of this Afro-Brazilian art form.
