Mumbet’s Freedom Farm invites you to our Gratitude Celebration.
For the past five years this land has been our teacher, sanctuary, and gathering place. Together, we have tended the soil, planted seeds, harvested fruit and veggies, crafted medicines, and built bonds of community that have carried us through so much. This farm has been more than a place to grow food, it has been a place of healing, learning, and belonging.
We give thanks for the children who have run freely here, learning with us from the Earth and offering their laughter as medicine to the land. We honor the families who came to share meals, stories, and prayers giving their time, energy, and love. We remember every steward and organization who has stood beside us in collaboration pouring care into the soil and into our hearts. Through grief and celebration this land has held us. It has offered us safety, reminded us of resilience, renewal, and the abundance of togetherness. It has been an honor for each of us to be in relationship with this sacred ground and with all who have walked and are still walking this path with us.
Now, as we reach the closing of this season and our time here on the land, we will be gathering to celebrate! We are excited to be in collaboration with Dr. Melchor Hall & Moving Potential for this final Gratitude Day! Our theme: Dreaming Abolition.
Wellesley College’s Anti-Carceral Co+Laboratory is closing out its tow-year Mellon funded grat by celebrating abolitionist learning that extends beyond the classroom. Joining Mumbet’s Freedom Farm for their final Gratitude Celebration, the event will include opportunities to explore the relationship between land, farming, food , dance and freedom.
