Group Sales Manager

Race Brook Lodge is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales professional to drive group bookings and maximize revenue for our hotel and event center. This role is responsible for generating leads, responding to inquiries, and securing bookings for weddings, corporate and non-profit groups, education sector retreats, wellness workshops, family reunions, private banquets, and other group events. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background, exceptional relationship-building skills, and a passion for creating memorable experiences for guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Field inquiries from group clients, promptly create proposals, and proactively manage leads for group bookings until a contract is signed and deposit received.

  • Meet with prospective clients remotely and in-person and conduct tours of the property, as needed.

  • Create preliminary BEO (Banquet Event Orders) and hand-off bookings to other team members when bookings are confirmed.

  • Develop targeted sales strategies to attract business from key market segments, including corporate, education, wellness, and social events.Research new clients for group bookings and reach out with special offers

  • Work with the food & beverage team to create and update group meal offerings and pricing on a regular basis.

  • Work with the marketing team to create and update online content for social media and other outlets, advertisements, and on-site materials related to group business, outreach and bookings.

  • Create and update group outreach materials such as client-facing brochures and pricing information

  • Schedule, plan and execute email outreach campaigns for group bookings

  • Create and maintain signage, pamphlets and other content for onsite guests

Qualifications

  • Respect for the Earth and a desire for harmonious coexistence with nature.

  • Significant experience in hospitality, and specifically events and banquet operations

  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in sales and customer service

  • Advanced computer proficiency and ability to learn new software and communication tools.

  • Familiarity with essential web apps, Google Drive & Docs, Mailchimp, Slack, and other digital productivity tools

  • Familiarity with Spreadsheets, Excel or Google Sheets

  • Familiarity with digital CRM platforms.

  • Attention to detail, good organizational and communication practices

  • A positive attitude and an interest in hospitality
