Himalayan Singing Bowl Meditation, Saturday May 13th in the Barn at Race Brook Lodge at 8:00 PM!
$10/person
Himalayan Singing Bowls produce sounds which invoke a state of deep relaxation. Warm harmonic tones are made as an experienced and trained player gently strikes these rare, centuries old instruments, which vary in size and shape. Three dozen hand-made bronze bowls are used, producing subtle acoustic vibrations in the room. The harmonizing pulsations move through and around the body.
Clinical studies have shown that these sessions can lower heart rate and blood pressure, stimulate the production of endorphins, and activate the immune system. They can also reduce anxiety, PTSD symptoms and stress hormones, while slowing down over-active brain wave patterns.
Participants can choose to relax by laying down, or sitting on a cushion/chair. There is no effort required, and no experience is necessary. Sessions last about an hour.
ABOUT RUDRA
Rudra conducts Himalayan Bowl meditation sessions in a variety of settings for individuals, couples, and groups. His father gave him his first bowl when he was a young boy, and since then the collection has grown into a small temple of ancient instruments. His background as a sound designer for theaters informs his approach to setting up the soundscapes.
