SONG OF ONE: Mind-Body-Spirit Integration Through Song
SONG OF ONE is a class for people who are looking to be more at one with their voice, or for those who simply want to have fun singing. Song of One is a blend of yogic techniques and techniques from the Italian Bel Canto, and Pan-African and world music traditions that inform Dana’s own way in music. Students will be instructed in exercises designed to free the voice and body, extend the vocal range and increase breath control and awareness.
Dana will also be appearing with David Ellenbogen for a concert at the Down County Social Club on Friday 7/6. See event info here.
The SONG OF ONE WORKSHOP seeks to help the student get out of his/her own way in order to express their own unique voice and to experience the joy of joining their voices collectively while maintaining their own individual expression.
Dana’s teaching grows naturally from the synthesis of her yoga practice over the years and the experience gained from a life in music. At the request of Harakuma sensei, she started offering Song of One classes at the Tokyo Yogafesta since 2006 and has been conducting workshops to interested groups and organizations since then
