Center for Conscious Living and Dying: Ceremonial Grief Concert

  • Race Brook Lodge Race Brook Lodge Sheffield United States (map)

JOIN US for a community-supported musical ceremony facilitated by members of the Asheville, NC based G8Keepers group: (Jay Brown, Aditi Sethi-Brown, JoJo Silverman, and Joel Karabo Elliott).

Once each season, these musicians host a Grief Concert, weaving the sharing of contemporary, traditional and spontaneous music that speaks to love, life, and death, with space for anyone to share from their heart that which is ready to be grieved.

A unique experience of ceremony in concert, this special time together harnesses the powers of collective grieving and music to hold space for our spiritual transformation.

New to these events? Listen to podcast "To Grieve" where Will interviews Aditi Sethi, Jojo Silverman, and Greg Lathrop. Because of the ceremonial container created, no alcohol or food will be served and participants will need to come for the entirety of the session.

Kids over 14 are welcomed at parent's discretion.

Contact JoJo Silverman <musicasprayer@gmail.com> for any ceremony related questions.

Stay over with us! Race Brook is offering a 10% discount on overnight accommodations for guests attending the Grief Concert using code CFCLD. Click here to book your room with the discount now.

The Center for Conscious Living and Dying

We nurture a community that celebrates the sacred wholeness of the human spirit, honors diversity in all forms, and embraces the final season of life. The mission of CCLD is to create a community that embodies living a meaningful life through inner exploration and growth, service, and community-supported end-of-life care. It is said that facing death is like holding up a mirror to the ways we live. Death allows us to really see, to glean meaning from existence. To feel connected, empowered, and alive! Because CCLD embraces death as a part of life, this community is remembering how to live consciously, and to infuse life with love rather than fear.

Race Brook Lodge is a hidden gem in The Berkshires, at the foot of Mt. Race and a short hike from the Appalachian trail. The yoga & event barn at Race Brook is simultaneously rustic and sublime, steeped in hundreds of years of New England history. The Stagecoach Tavern is unpretentious fine dining, exquisite farm-to-table cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere. Much of the food is sourced from Race Farm, right on the property!
