lespecial describe their sound as "progtronic" — a heavy future groove built from metal riffage and rhythmic precision, 808s, sub synths and ethereal vocals, with a lineage their booking agency traces as much to Radiohead and The Mars Volta as to Medeski Martin & Wood. Their most recent album, Odd Times, made with David Sanchez of the metal band Havok, is one the band calls its darkest and heaviest to date. Off the road they are woven into the musical life of the Harlem Valley. Jonny G is known locally as a co-founder of The Music Cellar in Millerton, a music school just off the rail trail that teaches students of all ages on a pay-what-you-can basis. He has played Race Brook Lodge before, at the Social Club, and DJing previous Reggae Wedensday gatherings.
Race Brook Lodge is a rustic and unique getaway destination, perfect for weekend getaways, workshops, weddings, hiking, biking and more, in the natural beauty of the southern Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts.
